4 Resolutions For Your Business In 2016

The start of a new year always comes with a set of resolutions, some of which will fall by the wayside before February rolls around and others that make a serious difference to your life.

This year you might have several personal resolutions – but what about your business? Consider how even the traditional resolutions could be used to improve your company in 2016. Here are a few examples:

1 Take better care of your appearance

In your personal life this might involve getting a good haircut or improving your wardrobe. In the world of work, apply this resolution to your workspace to provide a better impression to customers or clients and staff. Looking good can make you feel more confident, and it’s the same premise at work. You’re more like to want to show off and feel proud of a space that looks good – and it promotes a positive reaction from customers too.

2. Slim down

A personal resolution to slim down might include heading to the gym to shed those unwanted pounds. In the workplace think about getting rid of any clutter you don’t need for your business to operate effectively. Items which get in the way and take up space, like filing unused cabinets can be removed to make way for more staff within a growing business. Plus, as more and more gets stored online in today’s workplace, you likely don’t have much use for filing cabinets anymore – and the ones you need to keep can be innovatively implemented into the design of your office by a professional designer.

3. Be more organised

A business that is streamlined and organised operates more efficiently and effectively. Take the time to analyse whether your business’ processes are working and whether they could be improved upon. Look at how your business is laid out – would it run better if desks and employees were moved around, if some teams were placed in closer proximity to others? Increased organisation improves productivity.

4. Consume less

This doesn’t mean eat less food, it refers to the energy your organisation consumes and there are almost always areas that can be improved upon. For example, is your lighting as efficient as possible? LED lighting may mean increases in the amount of initial outlay but it pays for itself several times over during its lifespan – plus it’s better for the environment. Promoting your green credentials can be appealing to staff and customers alike!
